**The Gig**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a relationship driven, quality focused HSE Officer to join the business. Make this role your own and get yourself involved as you make your mark on safety across this high-profile, high value, infrastructure project on Barrow Island.

Your primary goal is simple - You will be responsible for keeping people safe at their work sites by providing specialist HSE guidance to operational project leaders, supervisors and the wider team onsite.

Based on Barrow Island, and reporting to the HSE Manager, you will work on a FIFO 2:1 roster. You will ply your trade to assist the project team, site managers and employees by recognising hazards and seeking to minimise risks whilst creating, maintaining, and improving the health, safety, environmental and Quality standards. You will champion HSEQ initiatives in the workplace whilst ensuring that legislation is adhered to.

**You will be trusted with**:

- Providing specialist HSE guidance to operational project leaders & site supervisors/workers
- Facilitate the management of the EHS and environmental systems
- Participate in daily start up meetings
- Positively advocate facilitation of HSE duties through mentoring and coaching
- Support the implementation of safety initiatives and new technologies to improve culture and company performance
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to support the project and company objectives
- Ensure project teams are adequately trained to perform their HSE responsibilities and provide ongoing coaching to ensure compliance with internal HSE systems and legislative requirements
- Develop and implement HSE improvements and initiatives to promote a safe work environment
- Investigating worksite incidents and occurrences in accordance with HSEQ requirements ensuring they are identified and addressed in line with company and legislative protocols
- Maintaining and assisting in the ongoing development of operational HSE systems
- Influence a positive attitude and commitment towards safety across the business

**What’s In Your Toolbox?**

You are an **excellent communicator**, **have a strong technical acumen**, and are as **accountable as they come** You have an exceptional knowledge of all critical and relevant legislation, and your quality and ethical approach to deliver on excellence will be key assets as you work toward successful solution outcomes.

You will have roughly 2-3 years demonstrated practical construction related safety and environmental advisory/management experience & knowledge in delivering mid to large scope projects; built form (preferably), civil construction or resources, and WHS industry relevant qualifications and certificates.
