**About the Role**
The Department Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual looking to take on a diverse range of responsibilities within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Newborn Health. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the department's leadership team and ensuring efficient day-to-day operations. This position offers a unique blend of administrative coordination, strategic planning, and collaboration with our hospital partners, making it an excellent development opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive and collegial environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- High-level administrative support to the Head of Department, managing diary commitments, travel, and correspondence efficiently.
- Secretariat duties for departmental and campus committees, including scheduling, minute-taking, and meeting organisation.
- Coordination of HR paperwork, academic promotions, and expense processing, ensuring smooth interactions with partner organisations.
- Continuous improvement of administrative systems and policies, optimising service delivery efficiency within the department and campus structure while aligning with hospital systems and processes.
**Who We Are Looking For**
You are someone who excels in building positive relationships, thrives on innovation, and embraces change. Your excellent communication, computer, and organisational skills make you a valuable asset in a dynamic work environment.
You will also have:
- Undergraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
- Previous experience working in a large complex and dynamic service-orientated research intensive or clinical environment, demonstrating strong administration skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively and discreetly where required, with staff and students from a broad range of backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and flexibly within a team to achieve results.
