Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at Thomas Embling Hospital and will be required to work across all Forensicare sites.
**About the Role**:
Theposition is responsible for the efficientplanning,organising, monitoring, and supervising of the facilities maintenance operations in accordance with Forensicare’s Strategic Asset Management plan, Asset Management Plan and the requirements of the Asset Management Accountability Framework and will perform a variety of tasksrelevant to management of Forensicare’s owned and leased facilities.
This role is within the Facilities & Asset Management Team (F&AM) Team (part of the Redevelopment & Asset Management Directorate) which is responsible for the whole of lifecycle management of Forensicare’s physical assets (primarily our land and buildings). Forensicare’s primary physical location is the Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield, however the F&AM team is also responsible for facilities management & maintenance at Forensicare’s leased offices in Clifton Hill and Derrimut, as well as management of those leases.
**Duties**:
- Oversee the maintenance requirements of the organisation across all Forensicare sites to ensure preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out to ensure all services are functioning 24/7/365 in accordance with relevant legislation to ensure that Forensicare is able to provide best care to its consumers at all times.
- Ensure maintenance work is assessed and completed for work identified by staff and others
- Monitor maintenance, including checking progress to ensure a high standard of work is carried out within reasonable timeframes
- Ensure MEX requests are actioned within appropriate timeframes
- Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment in accordance with the Asset Management Plan (AMP) in consultation with the Manager - Facilities and Assets Management and Facilities Manager as appropriate.
- Plan, prioritise, and establish work schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services;identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff and allocate resources accordingly.
- Consult with ISS team in relation to major maintenance work where disruption to the hospital operation is anticipated
- Carry out maintenance inspections in accordance with the Asset Management Strategy and as required for maintenance purposes
- Prepare documents & recommendations to support procurement for plant and equipment as required
- Assist with the preparation of specifications for contract services.
- Coordinate with contractors in providing contract services.
**About You**:
- Demonstrated experience in facilities maintenance experience including supervision of trades experience.
- Demonstrated experience in driving compliance with legislation and principles relating to Essential Safety measures and OHS.
- A working knowledge of materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical, and painting work.
- Experience in providing onsite induction.
- A basic understanding of the principles and practices of budget preparation and administration.
- An understanding of construction and project management principles.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- The ability to perform complex maintenance duties and operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated Ability to establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with
- others, and a customer service focus.
- Framework (AMAF).
- License or Certificate:
- Current elevated work platform license
- Current electrical test and tag accreditation
- Possession of an appropriate, valid Victorian driver's license.
