Pacific is seeking an experienced **Technical Manager (Renewables) **to join our technical team and support the growing energy team. This role will be critical to enabling Pacific to successfully develop and deliver projects within its portfolio of quality renewable energy and storage assets.

The key focus of the **Technical Manager (Renewables) **will be to manage the engineering workstreams for the development and successful delivery of Pacific’s generation and storage assets. This will include site assessments, development of concept designs, energy yield assessments, negotiation and development of technical contract schedules, management of pricing including build-up of in-house EPC costing and techno-economic models for generation and storage assets, management of specialist technical consultants, and feasibility assessments and technical due diligence of potential project acquisitions. This role will work closely with the wider Group companies (such as UGL and CPB) to develop best-for-project technical solutions.

This role will also work closely with Pacific’s Grid Connection Technical Manager to support the connections processes at all stages of the project lifecycle, and with Pacific’s Development Managers to support the technical aspects of development workstreams such as planning, offtake and contract negotiation.

The initial assigned projects will be development phase large-scale renewable assets. The Technical Magager (Renewables) will be responsible for developing and coordinating the technical strategy and solution for these assets, including overseeing the site studies, grid connection arrangements, concept designs, delivery strategies and technical contract documentation. This role will also work closely with the commercial and finance workstreams to provide technical input and output required for project financing activities.

The Technical Manager (Renewables) will work across the project lifecycle, undertaking technical due-diligence for future asset acquisitions and transferring lessons learned from development and delivery into these processes.

**Located in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne the role will**:

- Undertake technical due diligence and support the acquisition of renewables assets reviewing risks, and identifying issues and fatal flaws, including
- Reviewing sites and identifying key site-specific risk areas
- Reviewing and/or performing assessments of resource and energy yield for wind and solar projects
- Reviewing concept designs including layouts, SLDs, and technology selection
- Reviewing and managing consultants for assessment of techno-economic project drivers such as loss factors, dispatch constraints, revenue models
- Reviewing technical aspects of contracts, planning approvals, lease documents, and offtake agreements
- Build-up of in-house EPC costing and working closely with EPC (CPB and UGL) and equipment providers to optimise pricing and solution.
- Manage the engineering workstreams for the successful development of Pacific’s pre-construction assets, including
- Preparing and managing the technical solution, working closely with other Group companies to develop best for project solutions
- Managing early-stage equipment selection necessary to enable connections and planning work to progress
- Overseeing development phase site work such as geotechnical studies, flood studies, land surveys and environmental and planning studies
- Working closely with the Connections Manager to support solution development, network planning, system studies and generator compliance studies
- Providing technical input into key project contracts in late-stage development such as grid connection agreements and EPC contracts
- Managing consultants to budgets and overall project programs
- Managing the procurement and appointment of technical advisors for the delivery phase (ie Owner’s Engineer, Lender’s Engineer)
- Supporting the financing team with technical input into financial models, cost models and information packs
- Provide technical support to delivery-phase assets, including
- Pro-actively identifying and managing all technical issues during project delivery, identifying and procuring specialist technical support where required
- Visiting site occasionally to monitor construction progress and qual
