Our federal government client is searching for an experienced
**Procurement Officer** for an immediate start to be responsible for a range of procurement and contract management outcomes.

**About the branch**:
This branch provides financial management and reporting services, procurement support. and property and facilities management. The branch consists of four teams: Management Reporting & Budgeting, Financial Accounting, Procurement, and Property Services.

**Overview of the role**:
This position is responsible for providing advice and assurance on departmental procurement and contract processes including the development and execution of procurement plans, tenders, panel arrangements, evaluations, negotiations, contracts, and stakeholder engagement.

**About the role**:

- Provide procurement guidance and advice to line areas on complex procurement, contract management and probity matters
- Triage contract management and procurement matters that require escalation for legal advice, and/or opinion
- Manage the development and continuous improvement of departmental procurement policies and processes in consultation with key stakeholders
- Identify, develop, and manage procurement and contract management training to department staff
- Develop and maintain key relationships with internal teams, business stakeholders and external entities to continue to shape the overall delivery of services
- Manage mandatory reporting obligations including Senate Order, Indigenous Procurement, AusTender, and annual report

**Ideally, you will have**:

- Demonstrated experience working in procurement and a strong understanding of the Commonwealth Government procurement framework
- Ability to engage and work collaboratively with stakeholders, including the ability to communicate, influence, negotiate and manage change
- Experience in successfully delivering outcomes to deadline, using initiative and responding flexibly despite competing priorities
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff
- Certificate IV in Government Procurement & Contracts is highly desirable
- Experience in Finance One desirable
