**About the Opportunity**

Our City Operations team is looking for a new team member to join as a Resource Recovery Education Officer.

As part of the Waste and Cleansing team, this role will develop high quality and effective education and engagement programs that increase community awareness, understanding of and participation in correct waste disposal and Council’s waste and resource recovery services.

The role monitors and evaluates the outcomes of the education and engagement programs and uses these learnings to continually improve the programs and outcomes being achieved.

The role implements behaviour change initiatives that empower the community to minimise waste generation, eliminate contamination, reduce litter and illegal dumping.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering targeted, tailored contemporary and effective community education and engagement programs to achieve behaviour change;
- Experience in the provision of advice to the community on environmental sustainability issues;
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, best practice sustainable waste management practices and policy;
- Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering, and managing multiple projects at once, considering all aspects of a project lifecycle;
- A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental studies, community engagement or education, sustainability, or a related field, or commensurate demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- A C class driver's license.
