**Catering Manager**

Melbourne Grammar School is seeking a reliable Catering Manager to manage and direct the catering operation and department. The Catering Manager is a key role that holds primary responsibility for the delivery of food service to the Boarding House Students and the School staff on a daily basis within the Catering department operation.

**You will**:

- Monitor and plan the cyclical menus, with particular attention to nutrition, quality, variety and customer satisfaction.
- Manage staff in their execution of their duties and organise weekly rosters.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of the Catering Budget and the departments purchasing, cost control and inventory.
- Implementation and adhering to Food safety, food allergen and anaphylaxis protocols.

**Context of the role**

The School provides boarding facilities for over 100 boys from Years 7-12. A full catering service is provided for boarders, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, together with morning and afternoon tea. The Catering team also provides lunch for teaching and non-teaching staff during term times and a catering service for a variety of school-based functions throughout the year.

The Catering Manager reports directly to the Director of Finance and Business but has direct contact with a range of people from Headmaster, Boarding Housemasters to members of both teaching and non-teaching staff. The ability to lead, motivate and maintain a sound working environment within the catering department is also considered to be a high priority. Planning, maintaining and executing the annual catering annual budget.
