Qantas Ground Services (QGS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways and we’re responsible for providing ground handling and freight services to the Qantas Group.

As the Manager, Ground Operations you will lead and enhance the performance of our QGS QantasLink Ground Operations. In this pivotal role, you'll be the go-to expert for ground operations processes, safety systems, and operational planning.

You’ll oversee day-of-operations planning, training programs, and ground services equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely. Your leadership will directly influence operational efficiency and team performance, while driving continuous improvement across systems and procedures. Overall, working in collaboration with People & Performance Manager to support a high-performing, safety-first culture.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- 4+ years’ experience in operational leadership within aviation, with strong airport-related expertise in operations, compliance, safety, and people management
- Proven track record in managing cross-functional operational initiatives and projects, delivering results across diverse teams
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop strategies to address performance gaps
- Effective communication and influencing skills, be able to engage with senior management, frontline staff, and stakeholders through written and verbal channels
- Critical thinking with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of evaluating methodologies and driving continuous improvement
- Exceptional business partnering skills, building trusted relationships and providing actionable insights to support decision-making
