Accounts Payable Team Lead in a large Australian-owned wholesale company

**The Company**

You will join a business who are a leader within their industry, specialising in the supply of goods and services to a diverse range of industry and customer sectors in wholesale and specialist supply and service.

You will form part of a large high performing team known for their great teamwork and friendly work culture which sees them very successful in meeting the demands of a busy accounts payable function. This is an exciting opportunity for you to leverage your accounts payable expertise and strong people leadership skills to join a collaborative leadership team in Accounts Payable.

**The Role**

As one of the Team Leaders in this large Accounts Payable Team you will be an excellent communicator, keeping your teammates in the leadership group up to date with key performance objectives and enjoy working collaboratively to get the job done. You will have a hands-on AP Manager who prioritises cultural fit above all else, and who has a strong enjoyment for leading from the front and offering learning and development along the way

You will join a large Accounts Payable team who are very process driven and understand how each of their individual contributions and activities make up the success of the overall accounts payable function. You will be responsible for leading a team in the management of the monthly account reconciliations and the end-to-end accounts payable processing functions for the wider AP team when the team resourcing requires it. You will be responsible for the allocation of work for your team and yourself and be available to your team and the wider AP team to answer any queries and ensure accuracy across the teams actions and deliverables are met on time or managing performance challenges if/when they arise in a prompt manner.

The structure of this team allows for support in all areas by having an entire team of Accounts Payable Officers cross-skilled in one another's tasks. This allows for your team and the other sub-teams to be always well resourced and continued support available to meet the key deliverables and deadlines of accounts payable in the business.

You will leverage your excellent people leadership skills in the ongoing development of your team on a regular basis and lead from the front to ensure all tasks and team objectives are met. Once you have adjusted to the new team environment and processes within this large Accounts Payable team, you will have opportunities to contribute to the overall team and process optimization by leveraging your expertise in accounts payable.

**Your Skills & Experience**

You are highly skilled in accounts payable, having extensive experience working in an accounts payable and reconciliations environment. You enjoy working very closely with a wider leadership team and are unafraid to speak up and share the workload to ensure all business objectives are reached within the deadlines set out.

Ideally you have large ERP system exposure and consider yourself a quick learner. You will be comfortable working in a large team who value joint effort and teamwork, however be autonomous in your ability to complete tasks and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

You have an excellent eye for detail, have strong numeracy and reconciliation skills, are proactive in identifying and sharing optimal work practices. You are confident to lead from the front, allocating work to yourself and the team to ensure work tasks are complete on time. You have a passion for people leadership, mentorship and are open to sharing your expertise and learning from your peers in the leadership group.
