A fantastic opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Strategic Communication, Engagement and Protocol Branch (SCEPB) as a Principal Adviser, Accessible Communication at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Strategic Communication, Engagement and Protocol Branch (SCEPB) provides specialist communication and protocol advice and support to DPC and the Premier's Private Office.
The Principal Adviser, Accessible Communication is responsible for developing and leading a whole-of-government strategy to improve access to government information for people with disability. You will be a specialist in creating evidence-based, co-designed tools that can be used across the Victorian Public Service to help ensure a proactive approach is taken to providing accessible, timely government communications.
In this role, you will also review and provide high level recommendations for DPC-owned communication policy and guidelines, including setting standards for accessible communications delivery, in meeting the needs of people with disability.
This position requires a high level of communication skills, highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and strong problem solving and analytical ability.
You will also be a proactive self-starter, with a good understanding of government processes and ability to work in a complex, sensitive environment.
About you
- Strong understanding of effective and accessible communication strategies, resources and engagement methods with people with disability.
- Demonstrated experience of guiding the development of effective and accessible communications, ideally in partnership with people with disability and suppliers of accessible communications.
- Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects that require problem solving, analysis and collaboration.
