**About the role**:

- The Principal Adviser, Organisational Capability and Insights supports the Manager, Organisational Capability and Insights, through their advanced expertise, modelling of organisational values and reliable delivery of high-quality analytic products and insights.
- The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, closely working with the other units in Organisational Effectiveness and a range of program and policy areas within the department. The team provides service across the department and works particularly closely with Health Funding, Finance and Insights and eHealth (as well as all other divisions) to obtain data and to develop data insights.
- The role also requires proactively identifying areas in the business for analysis, developing and presenting recommendations to executives, and improving the data collection systems to support business and policy needs of the department.

**How you'll make a difference**:

- Co-ordinate and provide strategic insights and expert advice to senior decision makers, informed, where relevant, by collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders, to enable well-informed decision making and to perform key accountability functions.
- Support the Manager, Organisational Capability and Insights to develop, implement and promote business intelligence projects and practices with the People, Operations, Legal and Regulation division and more widely across the department.
- Deliver timely, accurate and high-quality data products and reports and provide expert advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of related data.
- Use a range of tools (including Power BI) to prepare detailed reports/visualisation, tailored to audience need, on the overall performance of the department's enabling functions, and present information to executive management.
- Deliver projects on time, budget and to quality standards, ensuring they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Provide guidance and authoritative advice to internal, and where necessary external, stakeholders.
- Identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and provide timely, high quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive analysis to relevant stakeholders.
