As a Data and Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing and analysing data to develop detailed reports that allow for data-driven decision making. You will generate insightful analysis and data visualisation including the identification of critical metrics and KPIs and deliver actionable insights to relevant stakeholders for various domains across the nib Group.
Reporting to the Product Manager - Data Governance and Platforms you will:
- Manage and resolve ad-hoc queries from across the business, enabling effective data-driven decision making; this includes Compliance and Audit based requests.- Understand and maintain focus on the analytical needs of departments within the Group, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and delivering actionable insights to relevant decision-makers- Utilise nib Reporting toolset, to deliver a suite of reports and dashboards to proactively identify trends and monitor KPIs- Make recommendations to continuously improve the operations within IT and the Data Platforms team
This is a part-time Fixed Term Contract (12 months).
Let’s talk about you
With previous experience in a data analytics or reporting role, you consider yourself someone who can share knowledge, expertise and is open to continuous learning. Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau and in SQL coding and data manipulation skills will ensure you are well placed for success in this role. To be effective, you will also have:
- High-level written and verbal communication skills- Ability to create clear and professional reports, procedures and other documentation- Proven flexibility and adaptability, with a self-starter attitude, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities- Proven ability to work well in teams, as well as the ability to function autonomously- Excellent collaboration skills in cross functional teams with the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences- Very strong SQL coding skills- Experience with dbt (data build tool), Snowflake-SQL, MS-SQL, IBM Informix SQL is desirable- Experience with Tableau is desirable- Previous experience in Data warehousing and ELT transformations and Source control are all desirable but not essential- Formulating KPIs and analysis path drill down techniques- Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience- Industry specific knowledge and experience is desirable
