Our network of family-owned businesses is taking on the competition, and our Marketing, Creative and Communications Team help put them on the map. They use data-driven insights to understand what customers truly want, working with local retailers to deliver personalised solutions that make a difference.

As a Team Assistant will provide high level administrative and operational support to ensure the effective functioning of the Events & Communications team. This includes the coordination and administration of Metcash Food events, retailer communications and all retailer engagement touchpoints.

What you'll do
- Arrange and coordinate internal and external meetings, assisting with the preparation of all necessary documents (e.g. invitations, presentations, reports, minutes).
- Oversee travel and accommodation for the Events & Communications team with the relevant agents from requisition to approval and issuing, ensuring the team’s travel budget is properly managed, administered and controlled.
- Assist with the administration requirements of supplier and retailer events, such as Supplier of the Year, Study Tours, Challenges conference, State and National Awards of Excellence, Expo, and State and National Conferences.
- Process invoices for the Events & Communications team ensuring proper protocols are followed in accordance with the standard Metcash process.
- Support retailer communications by uploading all relevant communication on myIGA in a timely manner and conducting regular reviews to ensure all information is accurate and up to date. - Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required
- Coordinate and manage events and business calendar ensuring it is accurate and up to date at all times

What you'll bring
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) including experience working with mail merge
- Very high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask a number of projects and prioritise workload to meet crucial business deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong experience in a similar administrative role supporting a small team.
- Retail and Events experience will be highly regarded.
- Basic knowledge of FMCG retail environment and industry / and or events / communications
