About the Role

**As the Regional Music Coordinator you will**:
LEADERSHIP
- Lead the instrumental music program across the region, in primary and secondary schools, to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Provide professional supervision and support for Instrumental Music Teachers.
- Provide curriculum leadership to Instrumental Music Teachers to improve student learning outcomes.

PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT
- Provide professional supervision and support to Instrumental Music Teachers and manage the overall performance for these teachers in primary and secondary sectors.
- Provide advice and support to principals in relation to school based music programs.
- Monitor the Instrumental Music Program alignment with appropriate professional standards, and in conjunction with regional officers and principals, work constructively and collegially to overcome issues.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Human Resources
- Manage staffing for the Instrumental Music Program in a region, ensuring departmental and music specific policies and procedures are developed and aligned with appropriate compliances.
- Manage complex and unique instrumental music resources to achieve the instrumental music program goals, including Music Resource Centres.

EVENTS
- Contribute to the policy making process by participating in workshops, attending conferences and analysing reports regarding school music.
- Ensure broad participation and/or representation of regional schools and students in specialist programs and events including Fanfare, eisteddfods, festivals, Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Instrumental Music (MOST), and area music camps and workshops.

PARTNERSHIPS
- Actively seek and form partnerships with community groups, arts industry and tertiary institutions, parent groups, and other government agencies to further the goals of the Instrumental Music Program.
- Deliver presentations to a range of committees, music organisations, and other groups regarding the necessary roles and responsibilities of music teachers in the primary and secondary curriculum and pedagogy.
- Remain futures oriented and strategic as an underlying strategy to further instruments

**Eligibility requirements**:
You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 5.12 of the Department of Education State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2022.
