The ICT Business and Governance Branch is responsible for key enabling functions that underpin our ICT strategic planning, investment, purchases, governance, communications and operational workforce, working broadly across the division and the department.
The Information Management team are responsible for the end-to-end Information Management capability across the Department. The team drafts policy and procedures to help the Department mature in line with information and records best practice, and administers the Department’s approved Information Systems, providing guidance, training and support to staff.
**The Job**
As an Information Management Officer, you will:
- Support the development and implementation of organisational wide information management services, standards, policies and procedures for compliant and efficient access to information assets.
- Provide specialist technical advice and administrative support in the processing and management of information assets within corporate Information System.
- Support the configuration and administration of corporate Information Systems.
- Provide specialist support and advice for corporate information assets throughout their lifecycle, from creation to disposal in both the formal EDRMS and informal information repositories such as SharePoint, MS teams, Shared Drives etc.
- Process information access requests including Right to Information, Freedom of Information, Administrative Access, and Privacy requests.
- Develop required training and guidance on information management practices and tools.
- Support a culture of mature Information Management by supporting user training, communications, and awareness programs.
- Support and improve delivery of Information services via helpdesk functions and other streams of engagement.
- Build relationships with the Business, stakeholders in the Data, ICT and technical space, and external communities of practice in support of Information Management.
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by taking personal accountability and identifying and reporting incidents, hazards and injuries in accordance with the department's policy and procedures.
**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**
- Familiarity with Australian Federal Government policies and regulatory frameworks relating to Information & Records Management, and to associated fields such as Data, Privacy, and Freedom of Information.
- In depth knowledge of Information Management practices, tools, systems and best practice covering electronic and physical records.
- Familiarity with a broad range of Information Systems, particularly Content Manager, SharePoint Online & On-Premises, and Records365 or other ‘in-place’ EDRMS.
- Experience identifying capability gaps, analysing complex information environments and recommending innovative solutions to improve practices.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs and packages, workshops and support or culture uplift initiatives.
- Experience with project and change management processes and the ability to plan and execute at scale.

**Eligibility**
- **Citizenship** - **to be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
- ** Security Clearance** - **this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
