**Description**:
Reporting to the Sales Director - Independents & Grocery, the National Field Sales Manager is a critical role within the Sales Team and will manage our product portfolio via a team of State Sales Managers, State Key Account Managers and Sales Representatives. The role will be responsible for setting the priority plans as well as developing and communicating the supporting activation plans to ensure gold standard execution by the team.
**Key Responsibilities will include**:
Be responsible for executing agreed strategies and tactics within the Independent trade to ensure beneficial outcomes.
Support in the delivery of annual sales budget through top line sales and margin.
Develop and maintain strong trading relationships within the State across all channels via new line presentations, Regional Manager contact, key event promotional planning, range extensions, trade shows etc.
Work with teams and individuals to build strong selling capabilities.
Identify development needs of personnel and build development programs to raise performance levels.
Develop appropriate selling tools and supporting processes to ensure the “go to market” plan is well executed.
Control the management of agreed State deals, discounts and promotional spend as well as budgeted travel, expenses and team wages.
Track results for team performance and reporting back into Independent Channel Leadership team on a monthly basis.
Own, develop and implement Slow & Obsolete Stock (SLOBS) clearance strategy, in consultation with the Demand Management teams.
Development and delivery of Hero & Core ranges as well as the successful management and introduction of new product launches.
Skills and Experience
Tertiary degree in the area or industry recognised certification
Extensive understanding and experience in grocery field sales as well as in a management role with strong team management and leadership skills.
Australian food grocery selling experience across multiple channels
Travel extensively across Australia on a regular basis
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide authoritative advice, influence and negotiate with a diversity of internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Highly developed computer literacy, including knowledge and experience in using Microsoft suite of software Excellent verbal and written communication.
Sound ability to collect, analyse and present complex data and information effectively to support decision making and action planning
Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks to achieve objectives and KPIs
Outstanding ability to lead, manage, motivate, mentor and develop a diverse team of professionals
