**Facilities Maintenance Assistant (Groundsman)**

**(Fixed contract full-time and permanent part-time roles available)**

Our Facilities team is responsible for the day-to-day compliance, operational and functional requirements of the School campus property and grounds. As part of this team, the role of Facilities Maintenance Assistant achieves this by working as a collaborative and supportive member and providing timely and well-executed practical assistance and proactive operational and logístical support, making sure that safe work practices are a priority for all tasks and the School is consistently a safe environment.

Duties will include the provision of general assistance in all matters related to maintenance of the facilities and functioning of the School including cleaning, security, maintenance and general care of the campus to provide fit for purpose facilities that support the provision of academic and pastoral outcomes for students, staff and the wider community.

The position also contributes to the maintenance of a positive internal culture where service, integrity, kindness and humour are valued.

**Key Priorities**
- Timely and effective fulfillment of campus property and grounds maintenance needs, focussing on customer needs, communication, quality, time and safety. Work will be allocated by senior team members, but also requires the role holder to utilise a proactive approach in identifying, notifying and resolving potential issues.
- Set up of functions, manage minor repairs and general up-keep of School grounds.
- Responding to and resolving enquiries and requests for assistance in a timely and polite manner, understanding critical priorities and requests in consideration that Facilities staff are often the first point of contact for facility maintenance need from staff, students, contractors and parents.
- Provide support to Management in delivering safe and compliant facilities & functions.
- Understand and work within the Workplace, Health and Safety requirements.
- Utilising the facilities maintenance helpdesk system as a communication tool to ensure current and accurate information is available, and tasks are prioritised, allocated and completed efficiently and effectively.
- Work effectively as part of the Facilities team and develop a professional relationship with the Wenona community to ensure the service is delivered in a collaborative manner.
- Understand and implement security and School lockup and opening procedures.
- Participate in reviews of services and systems improvements.
- Assist Management in identifying and managing operational and maintenance requirements.
- Upholding the reputation of the School at all times with professional and courteous behaviour and respect for the community values and expectations.
- This position should develop a positive set of relationships with all school personnel and the wider community and participate in all professional development training identified by School.

**Education and Experience**
- Certificate or trade qualifications and demonstrable experience.
- Experience across multiple building trades is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of current Safe Work Practices and Workplace Health and Safety.
- Experience in delivery of facilities management services.
- Computers skills: Microsoft Office, Help Desk System.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check.
