The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated quality management professional to join the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) to participate in the expansion of a quality management approach across the Bureau of Meteorology’s suite of products and services. A quality management system approach is scalable across Groups, Programs, and respective teams of the Bureau and adaptable to the individual needs of our stakeholders, enabling the integration of quality management systems (QMS) into all facets of their service delivery, and to achieve certification of compliance with the international ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard.
The position reports to, and will work closely with the Manager Quality Assurance to manage and facilitate the delivery of a comprehensive range of quality management services, corporate governance skills, knowledge, mentoring, coaching, and advice to stakeholders.
To be successful in the position, the occupant requires an in-depth knowledge of, and practical experience with the international ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard. In particular, as it applies to the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of compliance of QMSs; and extensive practical experience as a qualified Lead Auditor of management systems in accordance with the requirements of ISO 19011.
As Quality Lead, you will possess demonstrated ability to manage and deliver a program of internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001, and an in-depth knowledge of the audit process.
The occupant will possess strong stakeholder engagement, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills, and is responsible for engaging with all stakeholders, at all levels of the organisation to deliver the services of the Quality Assurance Unit.
