We stand for innovation, smart solutions and sustainability and this is an exciting time to join us as we build our own unique culture fuelled by confidence, energy and passion. **Discover the Opportunity** The Quality and Technical Lead role will be responsible for quality manufacturing and technical support at the Spearwood plant. The role will support the operations team to reduce the number of NCR’s through the implementation of cost effective manufacturing solutions and provide technical optimisation to customer requirements. You will contribute to the success of Opal by: - Working with the sales team to ensure we have design for manufacturability through technical optimisation. - Provide technical support to operational team. - Support the optimisation of operational capabilities to improve quality and manufacturing costs. - Understand customer quality requirements and develop solutions that increase customer satisfaction. - Identify opportunities within manufacturing to eliminate waste, improve quality and reduce cost. - Ensure all necessary compliance requirements are maintained. - Lead all site-based audit requirements including ISO 9001, Food safety and sustainability. - Work with key input suppliers (paper, inks, stereos, dies etc.) to ensure that their products do not provide variability to our processes. **Discover Yourself.** We are able to offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves. Specifically for this role, you will have; - Experience in Quality improvement processes. - Experience in technical design and problem solving. - Experience in driving value adding initiatives. - Understanding of or experience in implementation of Quality systems. - Experience in delivering sustainable projects within a manufacturing organization. - Ability to communicate and gain credibility from SLT to factory floor level. - Good problem-solving skills (RCA, 5 whys etc). - Ability to deliver skills to others through coaching, mentoring and training (upskill the organisation). - Willingness to adopt methods from others (does not suffer from "not invented here").
