The Fire Consultant role is based out of our Melbourne office where you will experience the enjoyment of working with a close-knit team on a number of challenging projects across multiple sectors such as commercial, retail, residential, industrial and aged care.
Reporting to the Discipline Lead, as a Fire Consultant you will be expected to provide assistance to engineers / consultants and develop expertise in all facets of consulting engineering work.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities**
- Develop Fire Safety Strategies in support of Fire Engineered Performance Solutions
- Prepare Fire Engineering Briefs and Reports
- Attendance at client meetings and site reviews
- Initiate and maintain contacts within the building and related industries in order to assist the company in obtaining its work
- Conduct project work assigned within time and cost budgets to achieve profitable projects
**What you’ll need**
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Fire Safety Engineering
- 2-3 years demonstrated consulting experience in Fire Safety Engineering
- Familiarity with the International Fire Engineering Guidelines, National Construction Code (NCC) and other associated documentation / reference material for your discipline relative to your position
- Ability to complete Fire Engineering Briefs and basic Fire Engineering reports with mínimal assistance
- Ability to use modelling tools (ie: FDS, Firewind) with mínimal assistance
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive attitude, and willing to take on challenges
- High level interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
- Proven ability to multi-task, project manage and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail
