The Fire Protection Services Designer role is based out of our Melbourne office where you will experience the enjoyment of working with a close-knit team on a number of challenging projects across multiple sectors.

Reporting to the Discipline Lead, as a Fire Protection Services Designer you will be expected to provide assistance to engineers/consultants and develop expertise in all facets of consulting engineering work.

**Some duties and responsibilities include**:

- Carrying out conceptual and detail design and analysis to enable preparation of documentation in respect of assigned areas of work in Fire Protection Services design as required by your level
- Carrying out detail design and analysis to enable preparation of documentation on-screen in AutoCAD and REVIT in respect of assigned areas of work in fire protection services design
- Coordinating Fire Protection Services designs with other engineering services and other project team members
- Review shop drawings, commissioning tests and defects inspections as required for your discipline
- Preparing Fire Protection Services design tender documentation
- Understanding of Fire Protection Services, NCC, Australian and International Standards
- Initiate and maintain contacts within the building and related industries in order to assist the company in obtaining its work
- Conduct project work assigned within time and cost budgets to achieve profitable projects

**What you’ll need**
- Proactive attitude, and willingness to take on challenges
- 3+ years of demonstrated consulting experience in Fire Protection Services Design/Engineering
- REVIT operator experience
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with the National Construction Code
- Registered Professional Engineer (or working towards), or alternatively QBCC licenced designer
- High level interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships
- Proven ability to multi-task, project manage and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail
