**The Opportunity**

We have an opportunity for a Project Officer to be part of our Major Programs and Regions Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The primary purpose of the role is to support delivery of key activities relating to climate change mitigation, emissions reduction and management, and carbon farming. The role contributes to delivering the agency’s strategic priorities including supporting industry to effectively adapt to a changing climate and supporting on-going market access. It will also assist in delivering the primary industry and regions elements of the government’s climate change response plan. The role also provides advice in relation to the delivery of key actions under the South Australian Government State Net Zero Strategy.

The incumbent is expected to work closely with all divisions across PIRSA, as well as build relationships with external stakeholders including industry, Aboriginal and regional communities and government. The primary focus of this role will include developing and delivering project plans, meeting timelines, assessing project risks and milestone reporting. The role will build capacity in greenhouse gas emissions baselining and management within the department.

The Project Officer will be expected to contribute and support successful project delivery, understand and utilise existing GHG baselining tools and methods to collect and analyse data, and work closely with primary producers across the state to implement emissions reduction methodologies.

- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

- Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week

**Requirements**:

- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.

**Remuneration**

ASO5 - $85,790 min - $95,413 max per annum, plus superannuation
