**The Opportunity**
The Project Officer, Transport Planning also provides high level business and program support to ensure the efficient functioning of the Directorate.

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure the effective management of Australian Government-funded programs and projects. The role includes coordinating program and project activities, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects and programs, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and schedule requirements.

**About You**
You consistently deliver customer-focused, strategically aligned services by building strong relationships and trust with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring business goals are met effectively.

You communicate with clarity and professionalism both in writing and verbally, resolving conflicts tactfully and navigating complex public sector protocols including Ministerial and Cabinet processes.

You are highly organised and self-driven, able to manage competing priorities, make timely decisions, and support change initiatives with urgency and accountability, contributing to successful project and program outcomes.

**Qualifications/Experience**
Tertiary Qualifications in business, project management or relevant field highly desirable.

Experience preparing written briefings, reports, and submissions suitable for Executive audiences.

Ability to develop and maintain strong and effective relationships and communication channels, building trust and credibility.
Sound understanding of public sector administrative processes and protocols.

High level of proficiency in the use of IT and software packages, including Microsoft Suite, electronic records management systems, project management systems and databases.

**Special Conditions**
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

**Remuneration**
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa + superannuation.
