The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Research Officer (Mental Health - Innovation Evaluation and Research) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Conduct literature reviews, source information, develop research protocols, navigate HREC and SSA processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the specialist area including new developments, research and evidenced based practice
- Support the progress of both existing and new evaluation and research projects within MHSS, including those focused on priority areas such has Suicide Prevention, Mental Healt crisis care, and Child and Youth
- Assist clinicians in the preparation of reference papers, reports, documents and presentations
- Engage with and develop positive working relationships with clinical and administrative staff
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- While not mandatory, a Masters or a high research degree would be well regarded
- While not mandatory, evidence of publications in peer reviewed journals would be well regarded
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, permanent part time (one full time position and one part time position 36 hrs p.f)
- Base salary ranging from $102 492 - $111 516per annum, $51.69 - $56.24 per hour
About Us
The Innovation, Evaluation and Research (IER) Unit at Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Services has been funded to bring high level evaluation and research expertise (design, implementation, evaluation and dissemination) to innovation projects, service evaluation and research activities. The IER Unit collaborates closely with service directors, clinicians, and academic partners to support research and evaluation initiatives. The IER Officer position will support relevant research and evaluation projects within the Mental Health and Specialist Services and work closely to support the Heads of Research (Adult and Youth) and IER Coordinator. Based in Southport.
