Docklands, Australia Medibank Full time

**About ahm**
Simple, easy and affordable. That’s our mission for health insurance.

We take a straightforward approach to creating positive experiences for our customers. So, our people are straightforward too. We are people who care about delivery, we like disruptive ideas and challenging what is considered ‘normal’. We work flexibly, and look after our health and wellbeing - it helps us be at our best.
If you have passion for driving results, a strategic mindset, and a love of innovation, now is the time to join ahm.

**About the role**

We are on the hunt for an experienced and passionate UX Designer to join our ahm design team and our Acquisition Squad ASAP, on a six month fixed term contract.

As a Product Designer you will tackle complex problem spaces and opportunities and transform them into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs for many - from the first-time customer to the loyal long-timer. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with other Product Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Marketing and Product Managers throughout the entire design process - from creating user flows and wireframes to building UI mock-ups and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them, and ensure that the final product delights them.

Medibank is challenging long-entrenched traditional ways of working, and here at ahm we are excited to be a part of the trial of a four-day work week: You can read more about the four-day work week here: 4DWW

**What will you be doing?**

Day to day, this role could see you:

- Deciding if your day is best spent working from home or the office. We don’t go for mandated office attendance days here at ahm, but we will need you to come in for events, workshops, team days, etc.
- Question assumptions and dig deep to ensure we're tackling the right challenges, using rapid prototyping and user testing as your guide.
- Juggle multiple projects at once - things get pretty busy here at ahm, so you’ll need to be able to adapt to the dynamic nature of multiple projects and remain efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure our interfaces are consistently polished by giving them a close look during development and delivery.
- Take responsibility for delivering expected outcomes on time and to standard, giving credit to teams and individuals as appropriate.
- Confidently highlight the process and outcomes of your work to broader stakeholders to help share design thinking with the broader business.
- Recruit and test with customers relative to the problem spaces identified.
- Understand what else is out there for our users, through direct market competitors, adjacencies and the broader digital, design and AI landscape.
- Not be chained to your desk - we encourage outdoor lunchbreaks, walking meetings, taking time out to attend your childrens school assembly, finishing early to get to a yoga class, etc.
- Incorporate new, experimental, and best practice UX and interaction techniques.

**Now, who are you?**

Enough about us already, let’s talk about you

You’re a Product Design with a strategic mindset, and aren’t afraid to roll your sleeves up when the time comes. You’ll be passionate about designing and shipping software / product experiences for multiple device types and contexts and can demonstrate solid experience in fast paced agile team/s. Ideally, you’ll have spent time working for a large corporate, and be a confident communicator who is comfortable to facilitate and present to an audience.

Its essential you have fluency with Figma, Dovetail, Miro, Maze, Survey Monkey, and other research tools for collaborating, designing, prototyping, and testing.

You’re a little bit obsessive about customer experience. You will thrive on working in a fast paced environment and be pretty confident in your ability to keep the plates spinning. You’re intelligent and you know your stuff, but you’re also excited by the thought of working for a brand that will challenge you to operate outside the usual corporate box - we keep it simple but most importantly fun.

**A career with us**

**To start small and impact bigger.
