About the Role
- Responsible for the management of patients admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit, under the supervision and guidance of the Unit's Duty Consultant, and for ensuring that the Consultant is kept informed of any significant changes in the condition of any patient which could result in an adverse outcome.
- Ensure comprehensive, legible, accurate and concise medical records are maintained for the patients for whom they are responsible.
- Ensure that each patient in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit has an appropriate admission documented which contains a provisional diagnosis and management plan and the ability to manage a busy labour ward.
- Interview, examine, carry out procedures according to level of training and arrange appropriate investigations and treatment of medical patients, and to ensure any such actions are properly documented.
- Undertake clinical duties in an outpatient setting, as required by and under the supervision of the Unit Consultant.
