Your new role:

As a Principal House Officer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will provide high-quality medical care under the supervision of senior consultants while gaining invaluable experience in a busy and evolving department. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient care, including rostered shifts in Birth Suite, Acute Gynaecology and Caesarean Section Lists.
  • Supervise and support junior doctors and medical students within the department.
  • Manage referrals, admissions and procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
  • Actively participate in clinical meetings, audits, and educational activities, and develop your own clinical expertise.

About you:

We are seeking a motivated and committed medical officer who thrives in a team-based environment and is eager to advance their skills in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Completion of a medical degree and current (or eligibility for) registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • At least 12 months' obstetric experience, with the ability to manage a busy birth suite under specialist supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to guide junior colleagues and collaborate effectively.
  • A patient-centred approach, with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to continuous learning and quality care.
