**The Role**:
The **Learning & Development Performance Improvement Specialist **will be instrumental in supporting the strategic Learning & Development plan to design, develop and embed functional, sustainable, engaging learning experiences that incorporate evidence-based educational design principles that align with the Auto & General’s culture of “high performance with high integrity”.
Working closely with the L&D Manager and greater L&D Team to deliver on and be a key contributor to the successful execution of the learning strategy. The role is highly collaborative and looks to continuously improve the learning experience and increase the value of the investment and the measurable performance of people engaged in the learning experience.
The role actively partners with the business to understand business needs, employees skills and knowledge gaps, and scope, recommend and develop learning opportunities that evaluate, measure and support the alignment of employee performance with business goals, including identifying appropriate instructional methods, defining and communicating project deliverables and timeframes, risks and dependencies. This role connects the business to L&D.
**Accountabilities**:
- Support the development and review of the L&D function’s strategic objectives and translate these into operational plans. This includes monitoring, evaluating and recommending initiatives in response to relevant emerging industry and regulatory trends;
- Assist in the development and implementation of the learning strategy, and supporting systems and structures, that lead to greater staff engagement and performance improvements;
- Drive continual improvement and performance excellence, by designing and delivering specialised training programs and assessment instruments tailored to specific needs, audience and performance development outcomes using a range of tools and methods;
- Maximise service delivery through the optimisation of available resources based on effective capacity planning and the commercial management of suppliers and partners;
- Maintain project documentation and learning governance methodologies;
- Define instructional end goals and create content that matches them;
- Coach others, support them in identifying development areas and navigate solutions; engage and influence colleagues and stakeholders in a way that motivates and empowers action.
**Qualifications and experience**
Essential:
- Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace training (TAE).
- Certification within the Financial Services industry is highly regarded.
- Project management experience is highly regarded.
- Experience in a senior role within a Learning & Development team or leading a team.
- Demonstrated experience recommending, developing, designing and/or managing company-wide learning programs in line with business outcomes and company values.
- Understanding of learning processes, theories and methodologies including adult learning principles and styles.
- Understand the importance of customer service and a responsive approach to drive results, continual improvement and performance excellence.
- Ability to identify challenges and facilitate solutions designing learning to thinking about performance outcomes first
- Ability to juggle leadership of numerous team priorities and be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
- Expertise in learning design, adult learning, learning technology tools, performance development, and project management support.
- Demonstrated capacity for self-management, participative decision-making, team participation and the ability to accept, promote and manage change.
- Strong communicator, advisor, and negotiator, with demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders of all levels
- Working knowledge of databases and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
