Social Support Worker

Our Social Carers support people in the community who have become isolated due to age, disability, injury, or circumstance. The support they provide is varied but does not require them to become involved in any kind of medical or personal care. Instead, they help people with activities that build independence, encourage social interaction, and allow them to enjoy life.
**Your role and responsibilities**
In this position, your responsibilities could include:
- Companionship
- Skills Training (eg. teaching someone to take public transport)
- Social activities, like movies, fishing, and going to concerts
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Help with appointments (eg. doctors) and errands (eg. grocery shopping)
- Light exercise, such as walks
- Local transport and getting around
- Assistance with Cleaning
- Assistance with Gardening
**Requirements**:
- You must have some experience providing domestic assistance and companionship. This can include babysitting, volunteering, and taking care of relatives or friends.
- You must be triple vaccinated against COVID. Applicants may have a valid medical exemption in place of these vaccination requirements.
- A driver's license is not required, but preferable.
- An NDIS Workers Check is required, which is easily applied for via Service NSW.
- All Social Carers are independent contractors, so you must have your own Australian Business Number (ABN) and Bank Account.
- Preferably, you will also hold a Working with Children check, although this is not a requirement if you do not want to work with people under 18.

It is important to note that as a Social Carer you would be an independent contractor, as such there is no guarantee of work or hours.

**Salary**: $64,958.90 - $117,496.47 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
