**Job description**

We are a well-established supervised contact agency working with vulnerable families and children. We are looking for a reliable, professional family contact worker/ social worker to join our supportive and caring team who makes a difference and provides safe supervised visits for children attending contact visits with their parents or family members.
- We are hiring for the Sydney area including _Bondi,_ _Parramatta, Penrith, Bankstown, Northern Beaches, and Campbelltown_.
- **Key responsibilities**:_
- Attend contact visits and supervise the interactions between the children and non-residential parent/family members
- Prepare observational notes about parent/child interactions during visit
- Communicate with clients in a professional and empathetic way

1. Professional, reliable, mature, and caring individual.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills

3. Ability to defuse escalating situations and manage challenging behaviour in a professional manner

4. Have current and **clear working with children check** and **police check** and **first aid certificate**

5. Have relevant experience working with children and families and understand child development stages, mandatory reporting requirements, child protection, and family and domestic violence laws.

6. Tertiary qualifications relevant to working with children and families include social worker, teacher, childcare educator, community services, and youth worker (Minimum Cert III)

9. **Weekend availability is essential for this role**

10. Must be available to work no less than **15 hr per week to be considered for this position. You must commit to the reoccurring shifts on an ongoing basis **to provide stability to the families.

**Please note**:It is a Casual role - hours are flexible according to your availability, however, minimum hours worked per week is required, no less than 15 hr per week. **Regular availability on weekends is required for this role - higher pay rates apply.**
