As an Infrastructure Solution Designer at Optus, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our network and infrastructure solutions, enabling seamless digital and IT operations across the business. This is a dynamic, design-focused role where you’ll collaborate with diverse teams to architect, implement, and optimise resilient network infrastructures that drive performance, scalability, and innovation. You’ll be the go-to expert for network integration, cloud connectivity, and infrastructure enhancement, ensuring our systems meet both current demands and future growth. **Your day in the life as a Infrastructure Solution Designer**
- Design and develop network-centric infrastructure solutions to support Optus’ IT and digital platforms.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate network and infrastructure designs seamlessly across systems.
- Assess and implement strategies for improving network reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network and infrastructure issues, ensuring effective and timely resolution.
- Research emerging technologies, with a focus on network and infrastructure innovation, recommending solutions aligned with business goals.
- Document network designs, infrastructure configurations, and processes to support knowledge-sharing and maintain compliance standards.

Experience required
- Proven experience in designing scalable, high-performance infrastructure with a strong emphasis on network solutions
- Expert knowledge and proven experience with technologies such as MPLS, MP-BGP, OSPF, Wireless, DNAC/Catalyst Centre and ISE.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud-based networking technologies, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- In-depth understanding of network infrastructure components, storage, and virtualisation.
- Experience managing and troubleshooting complex network environments in enterprise settings.
- Proficiency with automation and scripting tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, or PowerShell, to support network operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills focused on delivering innovative, network-oriented solutions within a collaborative team setting.
