**The Role**
An exciting challenge is now available for the right person to join and lead the Communication and Engagement team within Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB).This position will suit a highly organised, energetic and proactive self-starter who can lead a small team and improve administration possesses, internal communications and communications flow to our EMB’s geographically dispersed team.
As the Communication and Engagement Manager within the Program Management Office (PMO) of EMB, you will be required to:
- Lead a small team to support the development and implementation of communication plans and strategies.
- Manage the coordination and delivery of branch administration and executive support services.
- Develop strong, trusted relationships with business units within the Branch, anticipating and assessing their communication needs.
- Develop communication material for various audiences, which may include web content, communication products, ministerial submissions and briefings, reports and publications, ensuring high quality and accurate content.
- Provide expert communication advice to business units to support them in providing high quality responses to external taskings.
- Manage external taskings and relationships with key stakeholders in a complex and fast paced environment, meeting tight timeframes and delivering quality results.
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning/improvements for the Branch.
- Assess, review and adjust, strategies and activities to ensure communications are meaningful and meeting their original intent.
**About our Team**
The role of Explosive Materiel Branch is to acquire and sustain explosive ordnance capabilities for the Australian Defence Force. Currently the branch is managing 28 acquisition projects and the sustainment of more than 1000 different munition types including 35 types of complex guided weapons.
In addition, the branch manages two explosive ordnance manufacturing facilities. The branch comprises of the following business units:
- Aerospace Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office;
- Land Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office;
- Maritime Explosive Ordnance Systems Program Office;
- Munitions Industrial Base;
- Program Management Office;
- Business Management Office;
- Directorate of Engineering
- Roles exist in the Program Management Office.
