**Novotel Melbourne Preston** is located in the heart of Melbourne’s eclectic northern suburbs, 20 minutes from Melbourne Airport and close to the CBD.

Boasting a freshly refurbished lobby, rooms, restaurant and cafe, with the largest conference and events facilities within the Melbourne portfolio.

Novotel Melbourne Preston is growing and require a **Maintenance Assistant** who can deliver repairs to maintain the property’s facilities, while maintaining a safe and functional environment.

**Tasks include**:

- Responsible for the upkeep of all rooms, facilities and common areas to ensure all guest and public areas of the hotel are presentable.
- Problem solving various scenarios to uphold the safety and WHS requirements for our guests.
- Green thumb to look after the internal and external garden
- Wall maintenance which include patching, plastering and painting.
- Electrical safety and hazard management.
- Bonding with the team not just in the department, but all sectors of the hotel.
- Climbing, lifting, reaching, pulling and pushing in a safe manner to complete tasks.

**Experience we are looking for include**:

- Someone who is physically and mentally fit to think outside of the box when it comes to repairs and safety.
- Experience in a team environment, as well as an independent capacity too.
- Experience with property maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.
- A trade qualification is a bonus
- Understanding of Fire Alarm and Fire Fighting systems in hotels.
- Understanding of Air-conditioning and Ventilation systems.

**Salary**: $58,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
