About the job

The purpose of the
Retail Promotions Assistant
is to efficiently manage & deploy the end-to-end promotional program, follow & execute promotional critical path tasks and be an important link between suppliers, franchise partners & internal stakeholders for our Retail brands including Amcal and Discount Drug Stores.

Promotion responsibilities
include supporting Retail promotional team in management of promotional deadlines, understanding promotional processes, execution of promotional tasks such as creating catalogue briefs for marketing, creating off location briefs for space, assist proofing marketing assets and promo kits. Working closely with the retail brand team, communications team, space and marketing team, national pricing team and category team on successful promotion execution.

About the Department

Merchandise is responsible for delivering optimised, profitable ranges (B2B & B2C), forecasting core ranging (Promotions & NPD) in conjunction with the delivery & execution of promotional campaigns, managed retail pricing & space management across our network in all store formats. Merchandise is also responsible for the management and deployment of all merchandise retail initiatives & maintenance of POS master product data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Promotion responsibilities

  • Understand the end-to-end promo process and follow critical path deadlines.
  • Primary contact with external and internal stakeholders for all promotional related tasks & queries
  • Authenticate data accuracy of all promotional briefs through various validation checks.
  • Assists in proofing of all catalogue and other promotional artworks.
  • Generates reports for various teams to assist in data integrity and correct process flow.
  • Communicate all promotional updates through the appropriate channels while ensuring consistency, accuracy and delivery of communications is in line with Retail Brand Guidelines.
  • Creation, administration, and release of promotional allocations
  • Participates in promotional planning, process improvement and collaborations with various teams.
  • Established and maintained excellent customer relationships by ensuring Franchise partner queries are responded professionally and in timely matter (24h turn around)

Key Selection Criteria

Education/Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years in Office Customer Service / Promotions or Category Assistant
  • Understanding and experience of working the dynamics of a Franchise environment or similar
  • Computer literate in all Teams, Excel, Word, and Power Point

Knowledge and Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite skills including Teams, Excel, Word, Power Point & Power BI (optional)
  • Customer communication skills – establishment and maintenance of effective relationships, internally and externally
