Job Details:
JOB SUMMARY

To provide support to Program Manager/s and Management team in the preparation, monitoring and updating of project schedules and plans to ensure work programs are realistic and accurate.

The Program Planner is responsible for working with the Program Manager/s to develop and maintain the Master Schedule, as well as assisting in capacity planning and long term planning.

This position is also responsible for working with Program Manager/s to develop and agree their Work Breakdown Structures and produce individual project plans that seamlessly roll up into an overall program plan.

This position will also identify and track the program critical path, key risks, issues and dependencies within the schedule, providing full visibility across the program.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May be required to perform additional duties):

- Develop and maintain the overarching portfolio schedule using Primavera software
- Conversion of MS Project schedules into Primavera
- Analyse progress, identify problem areas, and establish current position and forecasting trends
- Support Program Managers/Engineers in the construction of resourced project plans in line with Company standards for work orders, work breakdown structures, timesheet reporting and project costing
- Provide expertise in prioritisation of plans, schedules and evaluate accuracy of the job plan
- Assist in liaison with resource managers to ensure timely allocation and utilisation of staff resources
- Assist in the analysis of costing reports received by Program Managers from accounts
- Assist/advise in reporting of progress to customers, senior management and project team members
- Assist in updating company scheduling standards/procedures and educate/train program managers in their use
- Ensure plans are realistic and consistent with estimates of costs to complete
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them
- Facilitate planning workshops as required

KEY REQUIREMENTS (Skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience)

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Degree or equivalent (preferably in project management related discipline)

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as Primavera Scheduler in either a project or Program Management Office (PMO)
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build relationships and interact with key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation
- Experience with P6 EPPM, MS Project, PowerPoint, VISIO or equivalent and Excel

Desirable:

- Prior experience of using SAP
- Use of Primavera Risk or equivalent Risk Management tools
