**Background**

UX Connections is a digital design consultancy founded in London, with offices recently opened in Gothenburg and New York. We are now in the early and exciting phase of starting a new team in Sydney, Australia and are looking to for a consultant to lead our Sydney office. We conduct research in to the way people use digital products (apps and websites) and design beautiful solutions that work for them.

**The role**

The role of the lead user experience consultant is split into three areas - research, design and business leadership. Your responsibilities will include:
**Research**:

- Researching the end-users of a digital product through a mixture of primary and secondary research
- Creation of research deliverables such as heuristic evaluations, competitor reviews and personas
- Deriving insight from this research and translating it in to design opportunities, interface considerations and new ideas for content and features

**Design**:

- Working within specialised client teams on-site at their offices, collaborating with complementary roles such as project manager, product owner, visual and graphic designer, and business analyst, as well as developers
- Creating specification documents such as wireframes, user journeys, feature maps and interactive prototypes and communicating these to stakeholders using techniques such as presentations and workshops
- Being a core member of our team, and adding value every day
- Business Leadership
- Responsible all elements of the Sydney office from recruitment, client management, payroll, sales, in conjunction with the Managing Director based in London
- Provide ultimate oversight and leadership for all UX consultants and all client projects
- Manage stakeholders across all client projects

**About you**

You’ll be an enthusiastic and hardworking personality - someone who wants to do the best work, be innovative and inspired all at the same time. You will have 8+ years’ experience working as a consultant across a broad range of industries, technologies and locations; both in research and design.

Additionally, you will have been in a management role previously where you encourage and lead colleagues, and have experience in all aspects of day-to-day running of a start-up. You will also have an excellent written and communication skills for consulting clients, and an expert using wireframing software such as Figma.

Fundamentally, you’re an excellent leader, and a designer who looks at the world (and particularly digital products) with a questioning eye and wonders why they were made the way they were, and for what audiences. You will have a psychology, design or computer science degree, and ideally will have a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator and other technologies.

**Salary**: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

- Sydney, NSW 2000: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
