**Job Description**:
Ability Action Australia are continuing to grow our multidisciplinary teams nationally. We are now looking for experienced **Behaviour Support Practitioner's** who ideally hold suitability at the **CORE Level**:

- as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - for our team providing supports to participants living in the **Brisbane region.**

**Responsibilities include**:

- Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths
- Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners
- Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice

**Qualifications**:
**To be considered suitable you will have**:

- Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - at the **CORE Level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner**:

- Completed a **degree level qualification as an allied health professional**:

- Hold and maintain membership/registration with one of the following**:AHPRA, ESSA, SPA, AOB, ANZACATA, AASW etc**:

- Report writing experience
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
