The Role

The Risk & Compliance Manager - Line 1 will work across the organisation, in collaboration with the Business, Line 1 Risk and Compliance Champions and Line 2 Risk and Compliance, to develop, implement and monitor a fit-for-purpose Risk Management and Compliance Framework for NGS Super.

**Key focus areas include**:

- Partner with Line 2 risk and compliance colleagues to ensure the effective implementation of the risk and compliance framework across the Fund as well as, assist in the implementation of new regulatory change.
- Support the management of each business unit risk profile and compliance plan inclusive of advice and support regarding key risks, obligations and controls.
- Support Line 1 in conducting risk and compliance assessments including:

- New products and services;
- New initiatives (change and transition risk);
- New third parties;
- Risks arising from changes to NGS’s strategy and business plan;
- Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management; and
- Scenarios & Emerging Risks.
- Support the business in designing and implementing a Line 1 control self-assessment (CSA) program. Test key controls in accordance with the Line 1 CSA program including the reporting of results and rectification of issues.
- Support the business in developing and maintaining process maps of critical business activities with a risk management and compliance overlay.

You have
- Tertiary qualification graduate or postgraduate in a relevant discipline and/or a professional certification.
- 6+ years of experience in financial services Risk Management and Compliance (particularly within superannuation or funds management including licensing, administration, financial products and investments).
- Experience in key risk and governance processes, such as annual Risk Management Declaration, policy reviews, conducting risk and compliance testing and other strategic/regulatory reviews.
- Experience with risk assessments covering business risk, third-party/supplier risk, project risks (delivery and delivered), Cyber, IT, information security, and data risk.
- Experience working in Australian regulatory practices and building and maintaining frameworks to support regulated financial services products.
- Experience in managing risk in complex environments, including developing controls, performing assurance reviews, assessing risks and controls, incident and issue management and monitoring adherence to obligations.
- A sound understanding of regulatory guidance, including SPS 220, CPS 230, SPS 231, and CPS 234 and an understanding of a matrix risk environment.
- Experience in providing expert risk and compliance advice, while being able to deal with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Strong attention to details, analytical and investigative skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills (with diverse stakeholders), with experience of supporting committee and Board reporting.

Desirable
- Recognised relevant professional certification/accreditation (e.g. CPA, CA, CFA, CFP, DipFS, RG146).
- Experience working within a Line 1 Risk & Compliance Function.
- Membership of professional bodies such as the Australian Compliance Institute or the Risk Management Institute of Australia (RMIA).
