Key job responsibilities
As a Industry Specialist, Manager with our team, you’ll influence and own long-term security outcomes for AWS. You’ll be working for government and regulated industries to understand their needs. You’ll be able to deliver security systems and solutions that enable them to operate more effectively, securely and safely. You will work with your manager, peers, partners, and customers to innovate and deliver on the vision and purpose of your programs. We encourage team members and management alike to have a high degree of ownership for their program vision and execution of ideas. While working directly with AWS security teams, infrastructure, and delivery teams you’ll identify opportunities to improve AWS’ project security posture. This will include building relationships, driving process improvements, and working with service owners and cutting-edge technology to develop innovative solutions to complex security challenges.

You prioritize well, communicate clearly, and demonstrate a consistent track record of delivery. You are proactive in removing roadblocks, pave the way for innovation, and can handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be a positive influencer across diverse international teams, be able to effectively rally support for your initiatives, and be able to help deeply technical teams create simple solutions to meet your program goals.

- Comfort and experience with cross-organizational communication; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience driving overall strategy and teams across organizations
- Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving down-stream programmatic risks (i.e. system incompatibility, resource unavailability) and opportunities (i.e. schedule opportunities, decoupling dependencies)
- Clear understanding of cloud computing services/deployment architecture
- Demonstrate innovative security approaches in non-traditional IT environments
