Local government organisation seeking a Waste Officer to join their growing team based close to the heart of Sydney.

**Your new role**

This role is for a Waste Officer and will involve identifying improvement opportunities, implementing recycling initiatives, and engaging stakeholders to achieve the businesses operational waste goals and improve overall sustainability outcomes. Your day could include:

- Management of day-to-day waste operation activities and requests.
- Overseeing waste contract management, including waste audits and SLM (Service Level Management) tracking.
- Responding to requests through effective stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
- Assisting in accurate and timely reporting on the businesses waste operation targets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders within and across divisions to gather necessary data for reporting purposes.
- Implementing recycling initiatives that align with operational targets and improve overall sustainability outcomes.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience is preferable.
- Strong focus on sustainability and a passion for driving positive environmental outcomes.
- A degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address process inefficiencies.
