Storeperson/ Service Technician

**Job Summary**

A new opportunity for a driven and self-starter has become available at Appia for a Storeman/Mechanical Service Technician with experience in heavy machinery. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you would assist in the coordination of completing civil construction projects through the metro Melbourne area.

You will be responsible for:

- Purchasing of tools and materials for jobs.
- Ensuring the delivery of tools and materials to job sites.
- Collection of tools and excess materials from jobs to return to the yard.
- Organising the service of company vehicles.
- Completions of annual risk assessments on plant, (Excavators, rollers and skid steers.)
- Ensure that plant has the necessary documents on departure from head office.
- Delivery of PPE to foreman at job sites.
- Delivery and collection of safety equipment (i.e. fire extinguishers) for plant at job sites.
- Organise and complete routine service of plant the yard.
- Emergency repair of plant at yard or job sites.

As a primary support person for the operations team, you will be required to ensure that goods and equipment are delivered to the site by the required times.

You will also be required for completing services and repairs on plant and tools that are routinely used in civil construction.

You will need to be able to form and foster relationships with internal parties.

The standard hours of the role are from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Friday, with the potential for overtime after hours and at the weekend.

**About you**

Desired Knowledge:

- Practical & relevant working knowledge of civil and general construction plant, tools and equipment, or experience in a mechanical background with other heavy machinery.
- General awareness of the Melbourne metro region for navigation and planning of deliveries.
- A strong understanding of OHS requirements for the logistics industry.
- A strong understanding of the chain of responsibility legislation.

Desired Skills
- Planning and organisation with relation to deliveries.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
- Well-developed verbal communication skills.
- Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical drawings/documentation.
- Understanding of document control.

You must have the following licences/ tickets
- Car licence
- Construction Induction/ White card
- Forklift Licence

The following licences/ tickets are advantageous:

- Mechanical Trade certificate
- Certificates in completion of TLIF0009 - Ensure the safety of transport activities.
- Certificates in plant risk management for civil plant.
- Certificate in warehouse operations.
- Truck licence
