Development Manager

**The Role**:
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Development Manager in the energy sector to manage the development of generation, storage and other assets through various stages of the project lifecycle through to financial close including the stages of project identification and origination, project development acquisition, concept stages, planning development, permitting and commercialisation. The role will also support projects through construction and initial operation to ensure regulatory and planning compliance

The role will have the opportunity to contribute to our de-carbonisation strategy and will be accountable to the General Manager Asset Development and Delivery. The successful incumbent can work flexibly with a combination of working from the office and working from home.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The role will be accountable for the progress and status of project development(s) in the asset portfolio and will be required to report on project progress. Responsibilities include the following:

- Negotiate and secure land tenure agreements and management of landowner and stakeholder relationships
- Lead planning processes to secure necessary statutory project approvals
- Progress engineering and grid connection activities in accordance with development goals
- Develop Business Case for project Financial Close and other material decisions that may arise through the development process (e.g., major project scope changes, budget requests etc).

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have development experience of renewable power generation assets. You have gained knowledge and understanding of the power generation market and industry, preferably in Australia with a focus on the renewables sector. You are competent with managing development projects and can direct work to colleagues and external consultants/contractors to ensure the development is on track and on schedule. You are collaborative in your approach and able to balance both internal and external stakeholders. You possess exceptional communication skills and can manage complexity whilst driving results.

Experience with working in a large matrix international organisation will be well regarded.
