**Position Information**:
Villawood North Public School is located in Fairfield East, South Western Sydney and provides high quality education for a richly diverse community with 92% of students having a language background other than English. There are 245 students with 28 different language backgrounds represented in the student population with the larger groups being Arabic, Vietnamese and Pacific Islander.
The school supports students from low socio-economic, English as a Second Language and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. The school provides education inclusion with a three class Support Unit to meet the complex needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Support Unit works alongside the mainstream classes with a focus on integration within the school community.
The school has a strong focus on wellbeing and inclusive education. School targets align with improving student outcomes in literacy & numeracy through collaboration and data informed practices.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach Arabic Community Languages and demonstrated capacity to provide engaging differentiated lessons that adapt to the needs of a diverse range of learners.
- A demonstrated capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies that build student resilience and promote high expectations for all students.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to promote Arabic language and culture with teachers, students, parents and the community.
- Willingness to participate in whole school initiatives.
