As the Head of Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, you will lead a world-class data science capability into the future and drive strategic intelligent automation at Coles delivering more value than any alternative.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Engage with business leaders to influence business visions, strategies, and futures with art of the possible of artificial intelligent automation
- Lead development and execution of Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence strategy
- Lead AAAI strategic plan & roadmap against Enterprise, Technology and other line of business strategies and roadmaps
- Build and lead a world market leading AAAI team capability, based on current needs and future direction
- Scope, estimate and pace initiative commitments considered leading or highly competitive in market
- Deliver AAAI initiatives, and work with other Technology platforms to productionise intelligent automation
- Deliver measurable customer and commercial outcomes, meeting or exceeding initiative commitments and expectations
- Build effective relationships with business GMs, and strong reputation amongst Chief Executives
- Build productive relationships and partnerships across technology departments and key business stakeholders

**Good things you’ll need**
- 5+ years leading data science and advanced analytics teams with proven track record of productionised implementation
- Demonstrated experience in senior leadership position, leading medium to large teams of highly skilled experts in their field
- Proven track record of delivering disruptive, complex initiatives and solutions with quantifiable performance uplift value
- Experience in strategy development, setting strategic direction and roadmaps for large teams
- Proven experience engaging and building relationships with senior people
- Proven experience navigating and delivering within large complex corporate environments at pace
- Proven experience managing large cost centre, navigating financial capital funding processes in large complex organisations
- Commercial experience negotiating with third party suppliers, including development of critical partnerships and/or joint ventures

Preferred but not essential
- Experience in working within technology functions, navigating technical and approval processes
- Experience in management consulting with both team leadership and client facing responsibilities
- Deep understanding of grocery retailing, large consumer retailing or service offering
- A graduate degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, econometrics, applied statistics, physicals, engineering
- Expertise in analytical techniques (regression, clustering, decision trees), statistics, computer science, machine learning, related disciplines
- Forward-thinking and adaptable to dynamic situations, understanding of emerging market trends to inform strategy development
