This is a newly created role as a result of growth with a Global Think Tank. As an Energy Modeler**, **you will be the expert on building energy modelling, bring your fresh contemporary ideas of automation and visualisation. The Energy Modeler operates globally and supports economic modelling activities required for Member services, thought leadership reports, advocacy activities, and fee for service work.

**Permanent/Full Time Opportunity | **Australia

**In this role you will -**
- Perform whole building energy modelling and analysis at a variety of stages of project design
- Developing and debugging new GAMS code to enable new model features
- Maintaining and enhancing the modelling system, including all inputs
- Developing and refining model outputs, including visualizations in Python.
- Maintain and comply with system processes and procedures, ensuring accurate and timely data input.

**Essential Skills and experience**
- Qualifications in Economics (preferred), Operations Research, or Engineering
- 3+ years of experience working with energy systems and technologies.
- Experience working with GAMS Code/ AMPL/ GNU Math programme.
- Experience with OSeMOSYS: The Open-Source Energy Modeling System highly desirable.
- High quality operation research analysis and daily report writing.
- Strong inter-personal skills, articulate and able to work with a diverse team of colleagues with backgrounds across science, engineering, business, economics, and policy.
- Exposure to and understanding of a range of energy policy issues (desirable)
