**Role Purpose**

Employees at this level are responsible and accountable for their own work and the work of others. They are responsible for the operation of a unit/section under their supervision. Supervision is by means of reporting to more senior management as required. Employees must be able to meet deadlines and are required to exercise initiative, discretion and judgement within the range of their skills and knowledge.

**General Duties**
- Upkeep a preventative maintenance program to minimise cost and maximise use of GSE equipment.
- Ensure that there are detailed records of all fleet vehicles.
- Organise the tracking of fleet expenses to maintain the yearly budget.
- Implement a testing and inspection program.
- Compile detailed and clear reports for management as required.
- Monitor serviceability of GSE MEL station.
- Plan, organise and direct duties to meet objectives in conjunction with local station management.
- Control resources and cost allocations within budgetary restraints.
- Establish, maintain and promote effective working relationships with various service providers at Melbourne Airport, external GSE suppliers and MA GSE Controller.
- Organise the tracking of fleet expenses to maintain a yearly budget.
- Upkeep a testing and inspection program to determine quality, suitability and compliance with specifications for vehicles, parts, accessories and materials.
- To ensure that each division of the ramp department operates within the policies, procedures and regulations set forth by a company, local, states and federal laws specific to GSE.
- To be an integral part of driving the Menzies SMART audits process in the GSE field to assist Melbourne station in gaining ISAGO accreditation.
- Perform GSE self audits.
- APAM Vehicle Registration Inventory and control.
- Maintenance of MA leased equipment.
- Organise and conduct weekly GSE meetings
- Responsible for the upkeep of the fuel tanker
- Responsible for Fuel supplies for Department sections distribution.

**Supervision**
- Provide supervision to all employees within their designated department.
- Allocate shift overtime to cover shift vacancies ensuring that each shift has satisfactory staffing levels to ensure we meet operational requirements.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, rectifying any issues with sufficient corrective action.
- Administer disciplinary action to any staff members who are found to be in breach of company policy.
- Allocate duties to staff members on shift, considering their mental and physical attributes and position experience.
- Demonstrate leadership, decision making and organisational skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements.
- Coordinate staff, demonstrating abilities to effectively complete inbound and outbound ramp turnarounds within the specified service level agreements.
- Responsible for the coordination of training of staff in the accordance with established procedure by means of personal instruction and demonstration.
- Provide leadership and demonstrate decision making and organisation skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment.
- Manage future shifts and staffing levels and the appropriate level of staff on duty.
- Attend meetings as required by Ramp Manager.
- Liaise with Management, Level 7, Level 6 BSR, Ramp IBC, Service desk Passenger Services Supervisors to ensure operational requirements are being met.
- Supervisors must be in attendance whilst staff are on duty including coverage of off schedule and adhoc operations.
- Manage and report OH&S concerns and maintain a safe working environment in designated area.
- Allocate staff meal breaks in accordance with Menzies Aviation TWU EBA and relevant award.
- Assist with presenting induction training and participation on interview panels.
