Accounts Officer

**Job Purpose**

An exciting opportunity for an Accounts Officer to join our growing team

This role will be responsible for the operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to meet required deadlines. The role is also required to undertake a variety of administration and continuous improvement activities to ensure the business division meets all financial requirements from our Customers and Suppliers.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Accurate and timely management of accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
- Process daily and weekly payment runs including managing FX, urgent payments and vendor statement reconciliation
- Verify AR payment receipts from customer and match payments in the financial system promptly
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries related to payments, discrepancies, or disputes, proactively follow up and ensure timely collection of receivables from customers
- Bank reconciliations and cashflow management
- Raise PRs & POs in Oracle Fusion to ensure overhead costs are processed efficiently.
- Conduct vendor onboarding process and ensure essential information and documents are verified before any payment
- Assist with the client onboarding process, including conducting credit checks, and maintaining client credit ratings
- Run weekly and monthly debtor reports and provide detailed updates to management on the status of outstanding receivables, collections progress, and any issues or risks
- Investigate and resolve issues with internal systems including Cargowise and Oracle Fusion Financials
- Respond timely to Customer, Supplier and internal stakeholder queries escalated
- General accounts admin tasks and adhoc duties to support the team

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management or customer service role
- Demonstrated experience in data management or data entry
- Experience with Cargowise One and Oracle Fusion Financials is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Intermediate Excel and or Data Reporting Skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
