**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of Claims Assessment Team 1, you will lead a team in a high demand service environment, to assess claims for financial assistance made by employees who are owed employment entitlements after losing their jobs due to insolvency. You will be responsible for ensuring the necessary processes, practices and reporting practices are in place to meet forecasted demand and to strategically manage the team’s workflow to provide FEG claimants with timely outcomes that are of a high quality.
The FEG Branch supports flexible working arrangements that work for the individual and the program.
**Skills and Capabilities**
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and capabilities:
- Strategic thinking - to steer and guide workflow and resourcing for the day-to-day operations of the team, resolving and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Collaboration - to work constructively and flexibly with others across the Branch to implement change and deliver program priorities including key performance indicators.
- Communication - to provide advice to management about the operational implications from emerging issues and provide options that support both operational expediency and robust program delivery.
- Leadership - to lead and empower staff to maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture by modelling a positive and solutions-focussed outlook, recognising and valuing the constructive contributions of others.
**The Opportunity**
This position is available to Ongoing APS employees as a temporary transfer at level or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 6 months.
