**About the role**:
An exciting opportunity exists for an Administration Team Leader to join Victoria Police's People Development Command (PDC), overseeing the Security and Events Services Unit within Business Services Division (BSD). The Command plays a vital role in building the skills, capabilities, and confidence of Victoria Police employees to lead and positively influence the community. Through the delivery of comprehensive training and ongoing development programs, PDC supports Victoria Police employees from their initial training through their career.
The Security and Events Services Unit serves as the primary point of contact for all visitors to the Victoria Police Academy, operating 24/7 to ensure the safety, security, and smooth functioning of the site. The unit undertakes a wide range of responsibilities including initial incident response and coordination, alarm and CCTV monitoring, fire warden duties, identification and vehicle verification checks, internal and external patrols, operational equipment distribution, and management of events and the vehicle fleet.
The Administration Team Leader will oversee the unit's practices and processes to ensure optimal service delivery while maintaining high standards of site security and customer service. This role is critical in balancing day-to-day operational requirements with the strategic objectives of the Command. The Team Leader will also be responsible for providing timely data and reporting on security incidents and governance matters to support informed decision-making. Reporting directly to the Academy Services Manager, this position plays a key role in supporting the Command in all aspects of site security and event coordination at the Victoria Police Academy.

**Your duties will include**:
- Leadership, supervision and support to team members undertaking shift work
- Planning and prioritising unit tasks
- Coordinate Academy events (such as weddings and funerals) as directed by BSD management
- Responding to incidents and emergencies as required
- Approval of unit timesheets and leave requests
- Perform the function of deputy fire warden at the Academy (training will be provided if applicant does not hold current qualification)
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, as required
- Manage quarterly performance meetings with unit employees as part of the performance progression cycle reporting process
- Prepare and maintain fortnightly rosters in line with relevant Victoria Police Manuals and Enterprise Agreements
- Support to other business units within Business Services Division as required
**About You**:
- Qualifications as Deputy Chief Warden (highly desirable)
- The ability to manage competing demands and be highly organised
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across a large and diverse organisation, using strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to respond promptly and effectively to security-related matters, ensuring timely resolution and mínimal disruption
- Well-developed organisational, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks with mínimal supervision
