**The Purpose**:
As the Head of Commercial - Government, this role is first and foremost part of the AP+ Commercial Leadership Team which is responsible for overall commercial strategy development for AP+ and execution of the goals for AP+ with specific responsibility for the leadership of the Growth team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Commercial, the Head of Commercial - Government will oversee and direct the Business Development activity for AP+:
- Develop go-to-market strategies for winning new business and building strategic relationships with state and federal Government.
- Growing transactions and revenues by winning new business or enabling winning partnerships with state and federal Government.
- Packaging and selling the AP+ suite of products and developing compelling propositions or experiences to drive adoption of the products.
- Be a key leader in driving the AP+ Commercial strategy to deliver transactions, new revenue and Eco-system growth.
- Leading and negotiating partnerships, distribution, funding or other deals that support the AP+ strategy.
- Leadership and development of team to be a high performing customer focused team.
- As a member of the AP+ Commercial Leadership Team, this role is responsible for supporting the MD, Commercial to set the goals and metrics to drive the performance of the commercial team
**In order to thrive in this role, you’ll be expected to have the following experience**:
- Experience in building robust and commercially lucrative Government relationships and winning new business.
- Commercial/Product/Digital leadership experience managing teams with different functions within a payments or fintech environment.
- Ability to package products and present compelling sales presentations to drive adoption.
- Proven experience in negotiating complex deals to drive win-win partnerships.
- Experience working in organisations that have undergone significant transformation.
- Knowledge of Eco-systems and or payments and how they are used by financial institutions, retailers, and Australian businesses.
- Analytical thinking to translate the company strategy into well-defined objectives and KPIs.
- Building effective and productive work routines. Makes and commits to plans but flexible enough to adjust when required.
- Experience in influencing at senior stakeholder levels & navigating across complex stakeholder’s relationships.
